What is ARBO Arbosil XL 1099-S Non-Staining Silicone Sealant?

Arbosil XL1099 S is a non-staining one-part Low Modulus Neutral Cure Silicone Sealant which cures on exposure to moisture vapour to form an elastic silicone rubber.

Main Applications

Specifically designed for use against Marble, Granite, Pre-Cast Concrete and other sensitive natural or manufactured substrates where other sealants may cause staining problems. Also recommended for sealing perimeter floor joints, uPVC and Aluminum window frames and many other common construction applications. It is not recommended for overpainting, or for use in floor joints over 6 mm wide.

NB: Adhesion and/or compatibility testing may be required on certain substrates, please contact ARBO® Technical Service Department for further information.

NB: Not recommended for overpainting and use with laminated glass.

Application Instructions

Joint Preparation

The joint surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from all contamination. The surfaces should be degreased using the appropriate ARBO Cleaner. ARBO Primer 2650 is recommended on natural stone, concrete, and other porous materials. It is recommended that ARBO Technical Services be consulted regarding the choice of primer for specific purposes.

Joint Backing

Where applicable, use appropriately sized cross–linked, closed cell Polyethylene foam.

All joint preparation, priming, and sealant application should be carried out in accordance with BS 8000 -16: 1997 + A1: 2010, the British Standard for the sealing of joints in buildings using sealants.
