ARBOPROTECT Pro B3 Adhesive & Insulation Foam
Main Applications
ARBOPROTECT Pro B3 Adhesive & Insulation Foam is suitable for thermal and sound insulation of buildings, vehicles and vessels, as well as uneven surfaces, insulation repair works and insulating hard-to-reach places. It also helps reduce the impact of thermal bridges and prevent condensation on cold surfaces.
Key Performance Attributes
High thermal and acoustic insulation value.
Thickness of insulation layer is freely selectable.
Quick and easy application.
Excellent adhesion to all commonly used building materials.
Good movement capability.
Enhanced UV resistance.
Application conditions
Air temperature during use should be between +10 °C and +30 °C. Make sure the ambient temperature stays within this range until the foam has fully cured.
Can temperature during application should be between +18 °C and +28 °C, with best results at +20 °C.
Surface preparation
Remove dust, loose particles and oil stains from the surfaces.
Moisten dry substrate to ensure better results.
Protect adjacent surfaces with paper, plastic film or other suitable material.
Add additional shield for external applications for protection against rain, wind and similar conditions.
Application method
Attach the application nozzle to the tip of the foam gun.
Shake the can vigorously at least 20 times. Remove the cap. Hold the foam can in upright position with valve up. Screw the can tightly to the gun by holding the gun handle with one hand and turning the can with the other hand.
Do not aim the gun at people. Avoid screwing the can to the gun with the valve upside down. Do not screw the gun to the can. Do not bend or turn the can during screwing.
Rotate the nozzle as needed for vertical or horizontal application.
Hold the can upside down when extruding the foam. Foam output can be adjusted with the gun trigger and adjustment screw.
Apply the foam from a distance of approximately 40 cm from the surface. The application distance determines the width of the application area – the shorter the distance, the narrower the application area.
Maximum thickness of the foam in one layer should not exceed 2 cm.
If another layer of foam is needed, wait for at least 60 minutes before applying the next layer.
The number of layers is not limited.
When applying foam in layers, moisten slightly between each layer, but make sure there are no water drops on the surface before applying foam.
Excess foam can be cut after it has fully cured.
Cleaning
Uncured foam can be removed with acetone.
Cured foam can be removed mechanically.
Storage conditions and shelf life
Guaranteed shelf life is 12 months from production date if stored in an unopened packaging in a cool and dry place at +5 °C to +30 °C.
Do not expose to temperature over +50°C, and do not keep near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
Store and transport in upright position.
Secure cans before transport.
Safety regulations
Pressurized canister.
Use only in well-ventilated areas.
When using indoors, ventilate the room after application of foam.
Do not smoke during application.
Use PPE gear when necessary.
Keep out of the reach of children.
See label and safety data sheet (SDS) for more information.
Limitations
ARBOPROTECT Pro B3 Adhesive & Insulation Foam lacks adhesion to Teflon, polyethylene, polypropylene and silicone surfaces.
It is not advisable to unscrew the gun from the foam canister intermittently. Foam should be used in a way that the gun is screwed on once.
Cured foam is less sensitive to UV-light and direct sunlight than other conventional one-component polyurethane foams. It is recommended to cover the cured foam with suitable opaque sealant, filler, paint or other material to ensure lasting quality features.
Do not cover before the foam has fully cured.
Do not use in places with long-lasting direct contact with water as this reduces thermal insulation properties.
Spray nozzle is compatible with most foam guns. Always check compatibility before choosing the foam gun.
Please observe the expiration date.
