Densoseal 16A™ – 1kg is a non-setting, self-supporting mastic. It is a firm, fibrous mastic based on mineral fillers, organic fibres and water-displacing materials. In addition, it can be applied to wet surfaces and helps seal ducts and conduits against the ingress of gas and water. Densoseal 16A complies with British Telecom Specification M212C. It is used for sealing cable ducts, conduits and service entry pipes or sleeves, particularly below ground level, to help prevent the entry of gas or water into buildings. Furthermore, it may be used for profiling mechanical joints on hot pipes before tape application.
Densoseal 16A is packed into the ends of ducts by hand and moulded firmly around cables and against the duct to help prevent gaps or fissures. The mastic should be packed to a depth at least equal to the diameter of the duct. Therefore, surfaces should be free from loose rust, scale, dirt and previous sealants before application.
