Weld-On® 725™ Wet ’R Dry™ Low-VOC PVC Solvent Cement

General Description

Weld-On® 725™ Wet ’R Dry™ is a clear, low-VOC, medium-bodied PVC solvent cement. It provides extremely fast setting and high-strength performance for rigid and flexible PVC pipe and fittings.

It is suitable for all classes and schedules of pipe and fittings with interference fits through:

• 6 inches (160 mm) in diameter.
• Schedule 80 pipe through 4 inches (110 mm) in diameter.

Applications

Weld-On® 725™ is specially formulated for wet conditions and applications where quick pressurisation is required. It is suitable for use with:

• Irrigation systems.
• Plumbing systems.
• Swimming pool and spa applications.
• Rigid and flexible PVC pipe and fittings.

On non-pressure systems, it may be used without primer where local regulations permit. Although any Weld-On® primer may be used, IPS recommends using Weld-On® P-75™ Wet ’R Dry™ fast-acting primer with this solvent cement.

Always follow the instructions printed on the container label and consult the pipe and fitting manufacturer’s installation instructions before use.

The date code of manufacture is stamped on the bottom of the container. Once opened, solvent evaporation may cause the cement to thicken and reduce its effectiveness. Do not add thinners to alter the viscosity, as this may significantly change the product’s properties.

Quality Assurance

Weld-On® 725™ Wet ’R Dry™ is tested using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, gas chromatography and additional quality-control procedures. Each batch is manufactured to exacting standards and identified by a batch code for traceability.

Safety Information

VOC emissions do not exceed 510 grams per litre. Read the relevant Safety Data Sheet and follow all safety precautions before use.

First Aid

Exposure	Action
Inhalation	Move the person to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, seek medical attention immediately.
Eye contact	Flush thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
Skin contact	Wash with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if irritation develops.
Ingestion	Do not induce vomiting. Contact a doctor or poison control centre immediately.

Special Precaution

Do not use dry granular calcium hypochlorite near PVC or CPVC solvent cements and primers. Contact between these materials, including their vapours, may cause a violent chemical reaction unless the calcium hypochlorite is used in a water solution.

For potable-water systems, purify pipework by pumping chlorinated water through the system rather than introducing dry calcium hypochlorite granules or pellets.
